Make Tacos, Not War

It's National Taco Day! There's no denying that America loves tacos. Last year alone Americans ate 554 million Jack in the Box tacos. From Jack in the Box. Y'all are gross. Have some self respect. Just kidding. There's no such thing as a bad taco. Whether you're a traditionalist or a hipster taco fanatic, let's all agree to get our taco on today and stop the taco shaming. That's what this holiday is all about.

Here are some of the deals we've seen pop up on the interwebs. Some are regional. Try not to get sad about it.

Chuy's - $1 beef tacos. OR put on your fanciest taco costume for a free entree.

On The Border - .50 cent mini tacos all day long

Fuzzy's Tacos -  $1 Tacos all day long

Taco Time - Get a free taco, yo

Taco Bell - 4 tacos, $5

Unfortunately, Chipotle is sitting this year out. :(

Depending on what time you read this today, it may not be too late to fire up your slow cooker and have some tacos ready for you when you get home. Here's one of our favorite slow cooker recipes for Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos. There's nothing wrong with a classic Ortega taco with ground beef either! Eating at home is almost always going to save you some cash, but with deals this good for Taco Day, it may not be worth the effort to cook yourself. Just be careful or your margarita budget will destroy your wallet. We're pretty sure there's another day dedicated to margaritas, so let's enjoy one holiday at a time, alright? It's bad enough we have to see Christmas decorations in September.

Maximizing Your Taco Rewards

There's no reason not to win twice today. Why limit yourself to great tacos? Earn some rewards while you load up on that taco goodness. Dining out? Earn 3% cash back on dining with the PNC Cash Rewards Visa. If you're holding the Chase Sapphire Reserve, earn 4.5% cash back when you redeem your rewards for travel. Dining at home instead? Earn 6% Cash back at US Supermarkets with the Blue Cash Preferred from American Express. You can also compare additional rewards cards here.

There you have it. Happy Taco Day.
